The World’s Busiest Airports

The world’s busiest airports, top 30.

Passenger figures published by ACI (Airports Council International) for 2012 show a year-on-year increase of 1.7% for Europe and 1.2% for the US.

The greatest gains however were in the Middle and Far East: Istanbul (20.6%), Dubai (13.2%), Jakarta Soekarno Hatta (12.1%), Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (10.6%), Singapore Changi (10%). Beijing Capital International moved up into second place and will likely outpace Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta to become the world’s busiest airport in 2013.

In Europe, Madrid was up 9%, Schipol showed a 2.6% increase and Frankfurt was up by 1.9%.
