Sanya Phoenix International Airport
Sanya is the southernmost town in China’s southernmost province, Hainan. It has a tropical climate and has been a popular tourist destination for many years. Passenger traffic has more than doubled over the last five years: almost 13 million people flew in to Sanya Phoenix International Airport in 2013 compared to just 6 million in 2008.
The destination just became even more interesting for fashion and luxury goods companies. In September this year the largest duty free shopping centre in the world opened here. Spread over one million square feet, the Haitang Bay International Shopping Complex is home to almost three hundred international brands. For some tenants – Prada, Rolex and Giorgio Armani among them – this is their first base in a duty free complex in mainland China.
The town is served by Sanya Phoenix International Airport. Operated by the HNA Group, it won an ACI award for “Most Improved Airport Asia-Pacific” in 2013. More than 150 domestic routes operate out of the airport as well as almost 50 international routes.
Digital airport advertising is an impactful and cost-effective way to reach Sanya’s luxury shoppers. 8 digital LED sites at check-in are available for c. £15,000 for a four week period.
Two of the sites are 6.72m wide by 4.32m high, the remaining six are 4.32m wide by 2.4m high. Minimum spot length is 15 seconds.
There are also a number of lightbox opportunities available in baggage reclaim.
