Focus on Zürich


Located 10km from the city centre, Zürich is Switzerland’s largest airport. Annual passenger traffic is almost 25 million. With more than 75 airlines and over 178 destinations Zürich is an important European hub ideal for targeting an affluent business traveller audience. Passenger numbers increase during winter months and around key events such as Davos in January.

Over a third of passengers are in transit. There are direct flights to the Americas, Russia, the Middle East and Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, China, Japan and Thailand.  The hub carrier SWISS has the largest passenger share at 56.4%. It also owns the only first class lounge in the aiport, SWISS First taking care of 7,000 visitors per month. The airport itself is new, light, bright and spacious with three terminals. T1 / Dock A (mainly Schengen) is home to SWISS and Star Alliance partners and the Airside Centre – a vast duty free area.  Dock E / Midfield terminal serves long haul departures and is accessed from Dock A via the Skymetro train. The smaller T2 / Dock B (Shengen and non-Schengen arrivals and departures) upgrade project is expected to be completed by 2016. Prime advertising opportunities exist in Dock A and Dock E. These include high impact pier branding on he outside of 76 piers at the long haul Midfield / Dock E.

Credit Suisse has transformed the Dock A arrivals area before baggage reclaim with three impactful poster sites. These include a soothing waterfall and a sparkling Swarovski crystal poster.

Advertising at Zürich Airport

A number of airline lounges and two private jet terminals offer more subtle opportunities, perfect for luxury brands. In December 2014 a new VIP lounge will open. This will be acessible to guests paying a high fee as well as protocol VIPs, commercial VIPs, corporate customers, Hollywood stars and UHNWI’s. It will be more than three times bigger than the current VIP lounge. Outside the terminal building there are a number of big impact highly visible poster sites. Two of these are face-on, ideal for targeting both departing and arriving passengers as well as meeters and greeters.
