Chongqing Jiangbei Airport
Located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Chongqing is China’s largest inland city with a population of 29 million. A strategic gateway to China’s West, between 2009 – 2012 its GDP growth was 6% higher than the rest of China. It is home to almost 13,000 millionaires and 810 Super Rich (100m RMB)**
This is China’s 9th busiest airport and one of its fastest growing major airports. Between 2005 – 2013 passenger numbers grew from 6.6 million to over 25 million – on a par with Zürich airport for example.
Chongqing has two terminals. T1 serves international destinations and T2, opened in 2005, operates domestic flights out of halls A and B. 95% of flights are domestic and 22 of the 35 airlines that service the airport are Chinese. Beijing is the number one route and Shanghai the number one city (combining both Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao airports).
